How To Find Kenyan Hotels, Restaurants & ATM on Garmin Nuvi

All Garmin Nuvi sold by us come with Pre-loaded map for East Africa(roads for Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda & Tanzania). The map has important details such as hotels and restaurants plus petrol stations and ATMS.

These details, also known as POI or Points of interest, are designed to make business travel and family travel easier by providing turn-by-turn directions to destinations.

The Nuvi uses your current location to find the POI that are closest to you. You can search for POI by category, or you can enter a specific name of a business.

How To Find POI on your Nuvi

Step 1

Tap “Where To?” on the Garmin Nuvi home screen and select “Points of Interest.” A list of POI categories, such as “Food and Drink,” “Fuel” and “Bank or ATM,” appear on the screen.

Step 2

Touch the category of the POI you want to locate and select a subcategory for the POI. A list of POI will appear on the screen. Not all categories have subcategories; you’re immediately taken to the POI list when you choose those categories.

Step 3

Tap the POI that you want and tap “GO.”

If you know the name of the POI, you can enter it instead of searching through the categories. From the Points of Interest screen, tap “Spell Name.” Type the name using the on-screen keyboard and press “Done.” Select the POI and tap “Go.”

How To Register Your Garmin Nuvi

Registration of Garmin Nuvi is available to owners of original Garmin Nuvi in Kenya. Registering Garmin Nuvi helps ensure that your device receives all important updates that will keep it working as it should. You can be certain that you have current maps, warranty protection and proof that you own the specific device should you lose it. You can register your Nuvi by connecting the device to your computer, logging on to your Garmin account and following a few simple instructions.

Step 1

Open your computer’s Web browser (Firefox Mozilla or Internet Explorer) and navigate to the Garmin registration website. Click “Automotive” in the Product Registration categories.

Step 2

Enter the email address and password associated with your Garmin account. Click “Create One” if you do not have a Garmin account or choose to sign in with a social network profile, such as Facebook or Twitter, by clicking the corresponding button. Follow any additional prompts to log in as a Garmin user.

Step 3

Connect your Nuvi to your computer using the USB cable provided with the Garmin. Click “Continue” to install the Garmin Communicator Plugin and agree to the software agreement terms. Click “Allow to Proceed” and open your browser window again when the installation is complete.

Step 4

Make sure the device information appears correct and click “Continue.”

Step 5

Enter the required information if you created a new account to register your Nuvi and click “Next,” or simply click “Next” if you used an existing account. Your Nuvi is now registered with Garmin.
